Madera Builders presents . . .

Superior construction . . .
Quality materials . . .
Thoughtful design . . .

. . . all wrapped up in one gorgeous home in the exclusive Haciendas at Seco Creek subdivision in Taos, a community so environmentally conscious that a nature preserve is your backyard.

This three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home is the second of only 24 homes in this 175-acre community. The homes border a 150-acre nature preserve in which homeowners have an undivided interest. Hike through the preserve, or simply watch golden eagles and red-tailed hawks soar over the valley from your back portal, which overlooks the property. On a cool Taos evening, light a fire in the corner kiva fireplace on the portal. The outdoor living spaces this home offers are as gracious and inviting as its indoors. Nearly 1800 square feet of covered portals invite you to enjoy the spectacular mountain and valley views.

The interior of the home measures 3097 square feet. Construction is 2 x 8 framing with brai membrane roofing. Extra insulation throughout with an extra 6 mil vapor barrier keeps the home snug and comfortable. Throughout is in-floor hot-water radiant heat, with six zones for energy efficiency. The home has three interior fireplaces, one in the living room, one in the master bedroom, and one in the library, as well as the fireplace on the back portal.

Wide sliding glass doors open from the living room onto the portal, making it a natural extension of the indoor living space. The living room fireplace is flanked by a built-in entertainment armoire on one side and cabinetry on the other side; above the cabinet is an alcove perfect for displaying a collection or a beautiful work of art. In the living room, kitchen, dining room, and other public areas of the home, the flooring consists of full-size brick pavers.

The kitchen is a cook’s dream, with a large center island that houses the range and provides workspace and a bar suitable for casual dining. A breakfast nook looks out toward Taos Mountain. Custom-made knotty alder cabinets are accented by solid slab Colorado red sandstone countertops. The custom-made copper hood above the range is both beautiful and practical. Top-of-the-line Viking appliances make this kitchen a treat for both the gourmet and the casual cook. A walk-in pantry with custom built-ins adds extra storage space to the heart of the home.

The library provides a secluded place for work, with private access to the portal that overlooks the nature preserve. It has a corner kiva fireplace, an antique oak floor, and built-in bookshelves.

The spacious master suite has a fireplace, large his-and-her closets, a double-sink vanity, a spa tub, and a separate shower. The tile work in the master bath is exceptionally beautiful.

The home is wired for security and CAT5 communication. It is on a shared well with two other homes; the water is excellent and abundant.

About Haciendas at Seco Creek . . .

. . . where stewardship comes with ownership.

Bigmnt

This extraordinary subdivision is the epitome of responsible development. It encompasses 175 acres, yet only 24 homes will be built, while 150 acres will be permanently protected as a nature preserve, home to red-tailed hawks and golden eagles, as well as a host of other birds and the occasional coyote. Homeowners have an undivided interest in this habitat, which is perfect for bird-watching or brisk nature walks. A seasonal stream creates an actual wetlands area, complete with cattails.

The Haciendas at Seco Creek CC&Rs (Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions) support the developers’ vision. Native growth on the property, including sagebrush, piñon, and juniper, may not be destroyed or removed. Water conservation and xeriscaping are encouraged, with lawns restricted to a maximum of 750 square feet.

The architectural style of homes and guest houses is limited to the traditional Pueblo and Territorial styles of Southwestern architecture. Contemporary interpretations are acceptable if the traditions of scale, proportion, and materials are blended with honest concern for historic integrity.  An architectural control committee of three or more representatives appointed by the board of directors of the homeowners’ association will ensure that high architectural standards are maintained.
